AntiVirus 2009 updates
Here's one more site pushing AntiVirus 2009 rogue security software:
http://googlescanners-360.com/
AntiVirus 2009 replaces the actual Windows Security Center applet in Control Panel with a fake version, which contains links to dubious websites. This Control Panel applet is named as
scui.cpl, whereas the original applet is named wscui.cpl. See if you can spot the not in the below screenshots ;)

Today I came across an automatic updates window while I was on Myspace, and I tried to close it but I was then asked to confirm a download of "A9loader_880221.exe", from www.googlescanners-360.com. I obviously didn't download it, thinking it was probably antivirus 2009 and did some research on it just to be sure (hence how I ended up here!). Only problem is, the stupid window is still in my browser every time I log into myspace, no matter what I do. I closed and reopened the windows and even restarted my computer. How can I get rid of this thing? Would clearing the cache help?
Hi,
Good that you didn't download it! Yes, you can try clearing the web browser cache. You can use CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to clear temporary and cache files. Also, it is better to scan your system to verify that there are no traces of any malicious files. For this, you can use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php)
